My Prayer as Easter Weekend Approaches

When I first came to know our Lord in 1997, Easter brought mixed feelings. On Good Friday, there was a heavy atmosphere of sadness—almost as though we were required to mourn. And if you didn’t, it felt like you were somehow missing the point. Then Sunday would come with joyful celebration, but the transition felt confusing.

Over the years, as I grew deeper in my understanding of the Gospel, all that changed.

Now, I see Good Friday not as a day of defeat, but of overwhelming victory—because Jesus chose the cross. He did what no other man could ever do. He fulfilled every prophecy, bore every sin, and poured out an eternal love that secured our redemption. That’s what Good Friday means to me.

And on Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate not just an event in history, but a power that is alive in us today—the very power that raised Jesus from the dead is what we move in now to overcome the world.

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. ” — Romans 8:11.

So my prayer this Easter is simple: that you come to know personally the love that was poured out for you on Friday, and the resurrection power available to you now, in every part of your life.

May you be drawn deeper into the love of Christ and the victory of His cross.

See you at church this Friday. ❤️🙏

Our October 2024 Journey to Israel

When we embarked on our journey to Israel in October 2024, we expected to walk in the footsteps of history, but what we encountered was something far beyond our imagination. The Holy Land, usually bustling with pilgrims and tourists from all over the world, was experiencing a noticeable slowdown in tourism. The impact on businesses, hotels, and local workers was evident. Yet, amidst these challenges, we were still able to embrace an unforgettable journey, filled with profound moments of faith and connection.

Walking Through History

Visiting the sacred sites was a powerful experience. From the Western Wall to the Garden Tomb, each location carried centuries of history and deep spiritual significance. With fewer distractions, we found ourselves fully immersed in the Holy Land, reflecting on the significance of each step we took.

Standing in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed before His arrest, we felt a supernatural peace settle over us. It was a reminder of the power of faith, even in uncertain times, and an opportunity to connect with God in an incredibly personal way.

Ministry Moments and Personal Encounters

One of the greatest blessings of this trip was the ability to have deep ministry moments in places that are typically filled with visitors. At the shores of the Sea of Galilee, we gathered in prayer, reflecting on the miracles that took place there. Reading scripture at the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, we were reminded of the timeless truths that continue to guide our faith.

Beyond the spiritual encounters, we also met locals who shared their stories about the economic hardships caused by the decline in tourism. Our hearts were moved as we prayed with them, offering encouragement and support with letters that we carried to give to the people. These moments of connection with the people of Israel were just as meaningful as the sites we visited.

Ministry Moments and Personal Encounters

Despite the challenges facing the tourism industry, our experience in Israel was one of deep gratitude. The land itself felt alive with history and faith, and we left with a renewed sense of peace—the kind that surpasses all understanding. It was a reminder that even in uncertain times, God’s presence is unwavering.

Looking Ahead

While we pray for the full restoration of Israel’s tourism industry and for those who rely on it for their livelihoods, we also cherish the powerful moments we experienced. This journey was a testimony that God moves in all circumstances, opening doors for faith and connection in ways we never expected. As we move forward, we carry with us the memories of this trip, the lessons we learned, and the prayers for the land that has given so much to our faith.
